Ethernet

  • Carrier Ethernet (EVPN)

Carrier Ethernet is a premium addition to Vodafone's range of Wide Area networking solutions. "Plug and Play" Ethernet simplicity with "Carrier Class" service management. Carrier Ethernet is the technology of choice for service providers delivering WAN services to meet the highest possible performance targets.

Based on Metro Ethernet Forum E-Line, E-Access and E-LAN service types, Vodafone EPIPE and EVPN Carrier Ethernet services are cost effective, flexible solutions offering industry-leading SLAs.

    Why Vodafone Carrier Ethernet?

    • Provisioned with Intelligent Network Interface Devices (NIDs), connections are monitored and managed around the clock using Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) protocol based tools to maximise uptime and meet performance targets.
    • Carrier Ethernet services are comprehensively tested and issued a "Birth Certificate" prior to commissioning, ensuring they're configured to meet all expected SLA requirements.
    • Use Vodafone EVPN in point to point and point to multipoint configurations for building customer to POP site links, Internet Connections or Layer 3 IP VPNs or in multipoint-to-multipoint configurations to build multipoint Layer 2 VPN's.
    • Use Vodafone EPIPE in point to point and point to multipoint configurations where highly deterministic SLA performance is required. EPIPE's dedicated transport bandwidth (per service instance) provides lowest latency and jitter and can be used for delivering backhaul, interconnecting POPs or connecting POPs to International Cable Stations.

For “point to point” connectivity services (E-Line and E-Access Service types) use the E-Line and E-Access Order Form.
